The official pinned FAQ gives a complete blueprint workflow, but players still miss the save icon inside Clipboard History. Follow the four steps below in the game, then use this private notebook to record requirements, outputs and failure risks. The notebook does not import a game blueprint string and never uploads your notes.
Press C (default binding), then mark the structures you want to copy.
Press Ctrl+C. Use Ctrl+V if you only need to paste the current selection.
Open Building → Blueprint, find the newest Clipboard History item, press its save/floppy-disk icon, and name it.
Use Export to copy a blueprint string. Use Import to paste a string shared by another player.
Open the Blueprint section of the Building tab and look at Clipboard History. The newest copied selection appears as a history item. Press the small save/floppy-disk icon on that item, then enter a name. A current Steam thread shows that even after learning C and Ctrl+C, players still overlook this icon; it is not a separate keyboard command.
If Clipboard History is empty, return to the world, press C, select actual structures, and press Ctrl+C again. Do not paste an internet blueprint into the local notebook below—use the game's Import control for blueprint strings.
Open Building → Blueprint and choose Export. The official FAQ says the game creates a string you can copy and share. Keep the creator, game build, required research and purpose beside the string; the encoded layout alone does not explain its safe startup or dependencies.
Choose Import in the same Blueprint section, paste the received string into the dialog, and confirm. Test the result in clear space before connecting Water, Lava, Energy or valuable storage. The official FAQ verifies the control path, not the quality of every community upload.
The default shortcut to flip a copied or selected structure is Ctrl+H, according to the official FAQ. Rebound controls can differ. After flipping, recheck directional belts, launchers, Filters, signal links and every input/output; visual symmetry does not guarantee operational symmetry.
Community blueprint demand is real, but current Reddit discussion also reports mislabeled uploads and missing per-blueprint requirements. Before production use, record the original link and creator, current build, required research, footprint, input, output, byproducts, power or fluid dependencies, shutdown control and overflow.
Paste the module into an isolated area. Supply one limited clean input, quarantine every output, fill the destination once, stop and restart, then save and reload. If the module has unexplained components or produces a different result from its label, disconnect it and report the mismatch to its host rather than silently republishing a corrected string.
For the full safety workflow, use the blueprint import/export guide and blueprint acceptance test.
